On Saturday, May 18, the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor will present the Ruth Moody Band in concert. Doors for seating open at 7 p.m.; the band goes on stage at 7:30. Ruth Moody is a founding member of The Wailin’ Jennys and former lead singer of the Canadian roots band The Duhks. She has performed around the world and appeared more than a dozen times on the national radio show “A Prairie Home Companion.” Her 2010 album, “The Garden,” includes neo-bluegrass band Crooked Still, Kevin Breit, Luke Doucet, and a guest appearance by The Wailin’ Jennys. Her second album, “These Wilder Things,” includes special guests Mark Knopfler and Jerry Douglas. Her touring group, The Ruth Moody Band (pictured here), includes Adam Dobres (electric guitar), Adrian Dolan (strings, mandolin, accordian) and Sam Howard (bass, vocals).
