The Troops at Camden, a living history group portraying local soldiers and civilians during the Revolutionary War, will hold a one-day encampment at the Camden-Rockport Historical Society, located at 7 Commercial Street in Rockport, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 12. The event is family friendly and free to the public.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the history of Camden and Penobscot Bay during the American Revolution; the equipment and weapons of the local soldiers, including loading and firing of muskets; food preparation and campfire cooking; and 18th-century medical treatment. Some musket demonstrations will take place. Susan Reidy will demonstrate 18th-century cooking techniques throughout the day.
In addition, at 1 p.m., visitors may walk with a soldier to neighboring Merryspring Nature Center to view the site of the main camp of the soldiers defending Camden Harbor.
