Folk duo Simons and Goodwin will perform in a Reading Room concert at Rockand Public Library on Thursday, March 21, at 6:30 p.m. Simons and Goodwin met in the 1960s while performing in Boston and Cambridge coffeehouses. Bob Simons was a single act while Renee Boghosian (later Goodwin) was performing with the now well-known folk artist Bill Staines. Their individual talents did not come together, however, until 2006, when after a long friendship they became the duo Simons and Goodwin. While primarily a folk duo, Simons and Goodwin perform country, old rock, jazz and blues standards as well as a number of Simons’ original songs. The concert is free and all are welcome.
