New members are invited to join Midcoast Community Chorus (MCC) to sing with approximately 150 community members giving voice to music from various cultures, traditions and musical genres. No audition is necessary. Whether new to the area, a novice singer, or a returning one, you’re invited to register for MCC’s fall semester. Registration will be from 5 to 6:15 p.m. on the first two choral rehearsal evenings, Monday, September 10, and Monday, September 17, in the Fellowship Room at the First Congregational Church, 55 Elm Street in Camden. Immediately following registration, rehearsals will begin in the sanctuary, and will continue every Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A semester fee of $80 covers the cost of music and rehearsal space. Scholarships and payment plans are available. Register in advance at mccsings.org to save time and get a music portfolio on arrival. Always welcome to join are new voices and singers of all ages and abilities, age 13 and up. The concert in preparation will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2019. Celebrating its 10th year, MCC’s mission is to “Sing as a community for the community.” Its members come from as many as 17 midcoast communities. MCC will be under the leadership of Steve Weston, artistic director, with Sean Fleming, assistant director, as accompanist. Experienced singers have an opportunity to sing in concert more complex music and may audition for the 30-member MCC Chorale, also under the direction of Weston.
