The Metropolitan Opera’s Live-in-HD broadcasts from Lincoln Center in New York City to the Strand Theatre in Rockland and Lincoln Theater in Damarosicotta continue on Saturday, January 12, at 1 p.m. with a simulcast of Cilea’s Adriana Lecourveur. An encore broadcast will be presented at the Strand on Tuesday, January 22, at 1 p.m. Soprano Anna Netrebko takes on — for the first time at the Met — the title role of the real-life French actress who dazzled 18th-century audiences with her on- and offstage passion. She is joined by tenor Piotr Beczala as Adriana’s lover, Maurizio. The principal cast also features mezzo-soprano Anita Rachvelishvili and baritone Ambrogio Maestri. Sir David McVicar’s staging sets the action in a working replica of a Baroque theater. Gianandrea Noseda conducts. The opera is sung in Italian, with Met titles in English. For Strand ticket information, call 594-0070, extension 3, or go to www.rocklandstrand.com. For Lincoln Theater information and reservations, go to www.lcct.org or call the box office, 563-3424.
