The Waldo Theatre will host a multimedia performance by Halcyon & Friends, called “A Winter Celebration,” streamed live from The Waldo stage on Thursday, January 14, at 7 p.m.

Based in Maine, Halcyon is a string quartet “dedicated to fostering connection, community, vibrancy, joy, accessibility and warmth through musical performance,” according to a news release. Halcyon’s Sophie and Josie Davis and Colin Wheatley will be joined by cellist Nora Willauer and violinist and videographer Luke Fatora.

The program will include Vivaldi’s “Winter” from the “Four Seasons,” Richter’s “On the Nature of Daylight,” and works by Schubert, Debussy, Price and others. The performance will feature locally filmed imagery of Maine landscapes.

Since The Waldo is not yet open to the public, there will be no audience in the theater. The performance will be captured in real time by a technical “stream team” with the use of a new, three-camera video system.

Ticket buyers can watch the event live, in real time via a YouTube link, or watch an archived recording later for up to one week. Tickets are $15 per person, $20 for multiple viewers at the same location. Visit waldotheatre.org to purchase tickets.
