Bay Chamber will host three hour-long concerts in its Café Nights Series at Union Hall. Tickets are $30 for adults and include a glass of wine, $10 for those under age 25. Palaver Strings will present “On the Nature of Daylight” on Friday, January 24, at 7 p.m. The program will include “Winter” from Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons,” featuring violin soloist Nicholas Kitchen; Max Richter’s “On the Nature of Daylight”; and Mendelssohn’s Octet for Strings. South African guitarist Derek Gripper (shown here) transcribes kora music of Mali, including music by Toumani Diabaté, for classical six-string guitar.
