Lincoln Theater in downtown Damariscotta will host a free evening with PBS NewsHour Executive Producer Sara Just on Thursday September 13, at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Just (pictured) will discuss what happens behind the scenes of the PBS “NewsHour” in the context of the current challenges faced by the news media. Just will outline a typical day at “NewsHour,” from early morning Twitter feeds to getting the program on live at 6 p.m., as well as the many changes made to the program since she joined four years ago. She will also compare the current process to work in her first TV newsroom, with Ted Koppel in 1989 at ABC’s “Nightline.” Just will also be joined live via Skype video conference from the PBS NewsHour studios by one of the show’s news correspondents.
