The Maine Lobster Festival has announced new officers for 2020. President Celia Knight (top left), the president of Knight Marine Service in Rockland, has been involved with the Lobster Festival her whole life, learning about it from her mother, who was a director of the festival for more than 50 years. She currently is the chair of the Marine Tent and Seafood Cooking Contest. This will be her second term as president.

Vice President Peter Beal (top right) is also returning for his second term. He is a self-employed marine fiberglass specialist and helps run his family business, the Michael Good Gallery in Rockport.

Treasurer Daniel Flaherty (bottom left), is a senior manager onsite advisor with Athena Health. Growing up in Rockland, volunteering and attending the festival was an annual event. Flaherty joined the board of directors five years ago and assisted the treasurer and in other areas to learn more about the organization. This will be his second term as treasurer.

Secretary Laurie Smith (bottom right) grew up in Owls Head, now lives in Rockland, and has volunteered at the Lobster Festival for more than 15 years. Laurie was elected a director in 2006 and previously served as secretary from 2012 to 2015.

The 2020 Maine Lobster Festival will be July 29 to August 2. For more information, visit mainelobsterfestival.com.
