University of Maine Cooperative Extension will offer Produce Safety Alliance grower training in three locations in the coming months. The training will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is open to Maine residents only. It will provide a foundation for farm food safety best practices and coordinated management information, requirements of the Food Safety Modernization Act, and details on developing a farm food safety plan.

Workshops, offered in collaboration with Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry and AgMatters LLC, will be held as follows:

• In Lisbon Falls on Friday, November 30 (snow date December 7), at UMaine Extension Androscoggin-Sagadahoc Counties, 24 Main Street — register online by November 23.

• In Bangor on Tuesday, January 8 (snow date January 11), at UMaine Extension Penobscot County, 307 Maine Avenue — register online by January 7.

• In Unity on Friday, February 8 (snow date February 15), at Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association, 294 Crosby Brook Road — register online by February 1.
