Bristol's Select Board has appointed a Wind Power Advisory Committee in order to act on behalf of the town in regards to the Maine Aqua Ventus proposal to put wind turbines off of Monhegan Island. The company has selected Bristol as the town in which the cable connecting the turbines to the electrical grid would come ashore.
Bristols's new Wind Power Advisory Committee has created a website - https://sites.google.com/site/bristolmatters2014/home. The purpose of the site is to provide information to Bristol's citizens about the project. An opinion survey is now online at the website, and the committee encourages residents to take the survey, as well as use the website to ask questions and make comments about the wind project.
