A few spaces are still available in Dive In 2014, a program on Monday and Tuesday, August 4 and 5, for high school seniors interested in studying marine sciences at University of Maine's School of Marine Sciences (SMS). Dive In showcases faculty, facilities and opportunities available on the main campus in Orono and at Darling Marine Center (DMC), the University's marine laboratory in Walpole. The first day is held at DMC, and the second day in Orono. The science sessions and field trips are for students only, but there will also be seminars on career options and academic offerings at SMS that parents are invited and encouraged to attend. Dive In is free, though transportation to and from Walpole and Orono is not included or provided. For more information and application materials, go to www.dmc.maine.edu/
