Searsport Planning Board Begins Final Deliberations Next Week on Proposed 22.7-Million-Gallon, 138' Tall LPG Tank

After almost two years of meetings, the Searsport Planning Board will begin deliberations on the final phase of the permitting process for the DCP Midstream propane tank proposed for Searsport. Closing arguments and the start of deliberations are set to begin at 6:30 p.m. next Wednesday, March 27, upstairs at Union Hall in Searsport. Deliberations are scheduled to continue on March 28 and April 3, 10, 11, 17 and 18.
The planning board's deliberations are open to the public, but public testimony was closed as of March 11.
DCP representatives will be on hand at the deliberations, but will not be able to give testimony.
However, planning board members can ask questions of DCP if they choose.
The planning board will use the time to review the material and to make findings of fact and to make a decision on the permit application.
All meetings will be held at Union Hall in Searsport above the town hall starting at 6:30 p.m. and running no later than 9 p.m. for all dates.
