The second annual International Maritime Film Festival (IMFF), a juried competition for documentary films celebrating “the heritage, spirit of adventure, and ingenuity of boats and waterborne pursuits,” is accepting submissions. The Alamo Theatre in Bucksport will host the festival on the weekend of September 29 to October 1. After the festival, a compilation of winners will be offered to venues worldwide.

Potential subjects may include, but are not limited to, voyaging, racing, working, leisure, boatbuilding and restoration, history, environment and science. Judging is not category-specific; all films will be evaluated in relation to each other, in one of two tracks, Feature Length (40 minutes or more) or Shorts (under 40 minutes). All films are to be in English, or carry English subtitles.

IMFF is a joint venture of Main Street Bucksport and WoodenBoat Publications in Brooklin.

Entry fee is $45. To submit films, go to www.maritimefilmfestival.com.
