Weekend Course in Rockland on Basic Shambhala Meditation

Rockland Shambhala, 16 School Street in Rockland, will present “The Art of Being Human,” Shambhala Level I training with Shastri Richard Sylvester, from Friday to Sunday, March 10 to 12. The program will introduce participants to the Shambhala principles of basic goodness, fearlessness, confidence and gentleness.
The course starts with a talk from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday that is free and open to the public. The program will continue on Saturday and Sunday, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. The weekend will include group discussion, guided contemplative practice and one-on-one instruction. Shastri Richard Sylvester, who has been a Shambhala Buddhist since 1978, is affiliated with the Providence Shambhala Meditation Center in Rhode Island.
