Architect to Discuss History of House Design in Camden

Camden-Rockport Historical Society will present a talk by architect Chris Glass on house design through Camden’s history, at Camden Public Library on Sunday, March 19, at 2 p.m. Glass will particularly focus on the turn of the 20th century, when builders competed to supply the new market for Shingle Style summer cottages. The library has a collection of period views, descriptions of the houses and builders’ biographies in the Walsh History Center.
Architect Christopher Glass
Christopher Glass has practiced in Camden since 1974, working on new house designs, renovations, historic preservation and small commercial and church projects. He is the former architect member and chairman of the Maine Historic Preservation Commission and former president of Maine Preservation.
