Camden Lions Club recently presented LifeFlight of Maine with a donation of $2,000 toward the purchase of night vision goggles for aircrew operating out of the nonprofit emergency medical transport services’ new base in Sanford. Pictured at check presentation, left to right, are LifeFlight Events Coordinator Shannon Thompson, LifeFlight patient Carter Duke, Camden Lions Club Membership Chair Bette Stone (Duke’s grandmother), LifeFlight Director of Communications Melissa Arndt, and LifeFlight Development Assistant Christine deLorimier. Duke was flown by LifeFlight from Pen Bay Medical Center to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for treatment when he was less than a year old. LifeFlight Executive Director Thomas Judge says, “We rely on donations from individuals, businesses and civic groups like the Lions Club to help purchase specialized equipment. We simply couldn’t provide the high level of care that Mainers deserve without this kind of generous community support.” Both Camden Lions and LifeFlight welcome volunteers.
