Video Game Design Program for Young Adults at Belfast Library
Thursday, March 16, 2017 2:23 PM
Belfast Free Library will offer a program in Video Game Design in Roblox Studio, an intuitive multi-player computer video game design tool, on Wednesdays, March 29, April 12 and April 26, from 4 to 5 p.m.
The program offers young adults (ages 11-18) the opportunity to build games in a supportive, informal learning environment among peers. Roblox Studio provides a user interface for creating simulations and games to which participants will increasingly add scripts and modifications as projects progress. Young game developers will gain new skills reading and writing in the Roblox Lua programming language, as well as new connections for computational literacy and gateways to other programming languages.
Participants are invited to drop in with their own devices, or use the computers available at the library. Librarians will be on hand to introduce, assist and troubleshoot.
